Virs Beers classic 2025

The Virs Beers Classic! The yearly golf tournament for Adam Virs’ birthday was held at the Buenaventura golf course after an almost three-year hiatus, due to its closure following a massive flood that had left the entire course submerged in 6 feet of mud.  The tournament had perfect weather and little to no wind. A total of 11 teams and 44 players teed off for the 4th annual Virs Beers Classic event, presented by Oxnard County Club.

We could not have done this without our sponsors at Anacapa Financial, Ch. 11, Former, Pro-Lite, The Benchwarmer, Buenaventura Golf Course, and 805.

We had a $20 buy in for side bets and for overall score and skins. A $250 pay out for two closie holes, 5 & 14 were paid by Anacapa Financial. One representative from each team had to roll the dice to select which tee box to hit from on holes 5 and 14. The four tee boxes were front (green), white, blue, and black.

The teams were legendary, we had Dimitri Poulos, Jabe Swerkocki, Holden Osbourne, Dane Reynolds, Jake Kelley, Micky Clarke, Ethan Osbourne, Dave Hopkins, Ross Boss, Hueneme’s finest, Curren Caples, Taylor Curran, Zach Moran, Nathaniel Curran, Tim Curran, and countless other legends from across Ventura County, and of course, the birthday boy Adam Virs.

On Hole 4, the short par 5, the long drive hole, everyone had to tee off from the green tees with a club from a 1980s women’s club set. The long drive was won by Kailer Hahn; he won a big box of Former gear.

Hitting the back 9 hole 10, the long par 5 was a 7 iron only from tee until you holed out, best score was par by a few groups!

The 2nd closie hole, which was hole 14, was won by the Ventura Dream team. From the white tee boxes measuring at 148 yards to a back blue pin to 11’2” was Myles Morgan, bringing home $250, paid out by Anacapa Financial and a speaker from Skull Candy.

The first par 3 Hole 5 was the first closie, won by a team member from Hueneme’s finest. They rolled the dice and had to tee off from the black tee marker. The distance from the black tee markers to the pin measured at 165 yards. Sticking it 15 inches was Joey “Turkle” Aaron, taking home the $250, which was paid out by Anacapa Financial, and a pro-lite boardbag

On 18, Adam virs in the last group had 40 people waiting to heckle him while standing over a 20-foot putt, with beers on deck from 805. It was nerve-racking, but Virs delivered under pressure and birdied 18, helping his team reach -6.

Awards were shortly after at The Bench Warmer in midtown Ventura. Beers were cold, vibes were high, and there was a buzz of anticipation for the results from a great day on the course for the Virs Beers Classic.

The skins had two skins, the first one was on hole 7, the longest par 3, and birdied by Team Oxnard, Tim Curran, Nathaniel Curran, Dan Jones, and Brada Ernie, taking home $220 bucks.
